Rolled canvas backdrops should not crackle in the surface, unless it is a planned effect that someone wants. However, I would like to mention a type that is not included in this video, muslin backdrops which are made of relatively heavy quality cotton and which are delivered folded. If you want it to be smooth (you will), spray it with water and steam iron it, then it can then be mounted on a pipe and remain smooth.

Thanks for this video, it really helped me a lot. I do have one question though. Is there a way to set up which watermark I'd like to use when I'm using the way of publishing. For example I have a watermark I use when I'm sending clients there proofs but I don't see a way to select it with this plug in.

Yes, you have to actually set up a watermark on your pixieset account. After that is set next time you create a new collection on Lightroom it’ll give you the option wether to add the watermark or not when publishing your photos to pixieset

This was a great introduction to color calibration. Super helpful for us as we have experience in calibration but with a an old i1 years ago for our studio work. But that is no longer supported on newer macs so we purchased the spyder X Elite (still waiting for it to arrive) and this has been a great video letting us know what to expect. I'm glad we got the Elite especially after your comparison of the two. You production style is super professional and delivery / comminution is perfect. Very well done!

I use this Spyder calibration system on my iMac monitor. I don’t usually print portraits, but I tried it a couple days ago on my Epson SC900 printer. I use the ICC profiles for the paper, do soft proofing and the skin tone on my subject is pink. The print doesn’t match the soft proof image at all and it’s only on the skin, the rest of the image is perfect. Any ideas on how to solve this? Thanks in advance!!

Hey Sal, I get this delivers a consistent product and it is a reference point to how all your prices will get printed, assuming the printer dials in the same parameters to correct different printing machines. But the whole fail here is that every single client, unless they calibrate their machines, will not see what you see. If they print yes, but most people consume photo and video content on screens, laptops and phones. So the consistency is lost.

I normal wouldn't ask something like this in a video like this but there is not to many FJ80 vid reviews. Cheers

What a timely video for me! I just purchased a new M1 MacBook Pro (switching from a PC). I edited my first photo, had it printed from Mpix and sure enough, the white balance was way warmer on the print. I have an older colormunki so I downloaded the latest software and calibrated the MacBook. After calibration the monitor was slightly "warmer" but I'm not convinced it's perfect. I was wondering what preset I should be using durning the calibration? Should I leave it on "Apple XDR Display" or the "Photography P3-D65" preset?

Sounds like you may need to simply raise the height of your off-camera flashes + be sure that your off-camera flashes that are *between you and your subjects* are turned off.
